Tempeh Bacon

Ingredients:

  • 1 block of tempeh

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 1/2 tablespoon liquid smoke

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar


Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, add soy sauce, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and apple cider vinegar. Mix until well combined. Set aside.

  2. Cut the block of tempeh into thin slices width-wise. 

  3. Place sliced tempeh into the bowl with the marinade and gently stir until all of the tempeh slices are submerged and coated. Let sit for 15-20 minutes. 

  4.  Once the tempeh has had time to marinate, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, place marinated tempeh in one layer in the skillet. Cook until browned on each side and slightly crispy. 

  5. Enjoy with pasta, salads, or sandwiches!

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve crumbled up on your favorite pasta, soup, salad, or sandwich recipe.
